Richard Westermayer

Principal and Founder

Richard Westermayer is the founder of Benesmart and a lifelong entrepreneur with a background in finance and a passion for disrupting the status quo in employee benefits.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri, Richard entered the insurance industry in 2013 and quickly recognized how broken the traditional health insurance system was—especially for employers stuck with rising costs and limited options.

In 2017, he founded Benesmart with a simple mission: help businesses take back control of their health plans by eliminating overspend and misaligned incentives.

Since then, Richard has worked with companies across all industries and sizes, leading enrollment fulfillment for over 3,300 clients and pioneering strategies that have saved employers millions. He brings a decade of front-line experience, a finance-first mindset, and a no-BS approach to transforming how businesses think about benefits.

Outside of work, Richard is a proud husband to Logan and father to Camille. He’s also a fitness enthusiast and avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and time in nature. He believes great strategy starts with clarity—and that applies as much to business as it does to life.

Ginny Westermayer

Operations Manager

Ginny is the operational engine behind Benesmart, ensuring that every system, process, and project runs with precision and purpose.

With over 25 years of experience in business analysis and process optimization across the financial, retail, and telecom sectors, Ginny brings a deep passion for making complex operations work seamlessly. She thrives on identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and building the kind of internal systems that keep things moving—quietly, efficiently, and reliably.

At Benesmart, Ginny is the go-to problem solver behind the curtain. From aligning project deliverables to supporting cross-functional teams, she plays a key role in making sure nothing slips through the cracks. Her ability to translate big-picture goals into actionable, repeatable processes keeps our team focused, our clients supported, and our strategy sharp.

Whether she’s mapping workflows, documenting requirements, or improving internal operations, Ginny’s work is what transforms vision into execution—and keeps Benesmart running like a well-oiled machine.

When she’s not optimizing processes, Ginny enjoys traveling to new destinations, spending time with close friends, and making memories with her granddaughter Camille—who keeps her on her toes in the best way possible.


Maria Devibar

Customer Success Manager

Maria Devibar leads the Customer Service division at Benesmart, where she plays a critical role in supporting our clients and keeping carrier relationships running smoothly behind the scenes.

From securing accurate quotes to resolving escalated service issues, Maria is the steady hand that ensures nothing falls through the cracks. She works directly with insurance carriers and vendor partners to gather information, follow up on requests, and push through roadblocks—always with a calm, focused approach.

Maria brings a rare blend of patience, precision, and people skills to her work. Whether she’s tracking down a policy detail or helping a client get answers fast, she approaches every task with professionalism and care. Her ability to manage time zones, workloads, and urgent client needs makes her an indispensable part of the Benesmart team.

Based in the Philippines, Maria is also a proud mom to three daughters, ages 11, 6, and 1. When she’s not juggling client service and carrier communications, she enjoys spending quality time with her girls and creating a loving, energetic home life that mirrors the dedication she brings to her work.
